What is a QME/AME?

DermLegal Patient-doctor consultation and clinical evaluation of a skin condition.

A Medical Evaluator (QME/AME) is a board-certified dermatologist certified by the State of California to conduct independent evaluations of injured or ill workers. These evaluations are required when there is a dispute between the worker’s claimed condition and the employer. Dermatology medicolegal experts review cases to help determine the appropriate course of treatment, assess permanent impairment, and ensure injured workers receive proper care while protecting employers from inaccurate or unsupported claims.
